8 What’s Not Every employee will have a grade change Some employees will have a new title (approx. 60%) Hint – don’t underestimate employee attachment to their title All job descriptions will be updated What’s Changing What’s Changing and What’s Not Employees’ pay will remain the same Employee job duties will remain the same

9 JCCS Campus Training How Does this Change Affect You? Some Frequently Asked Questions… Updated job descriptions will better represent your actual work, and will make career planning easier. Related pay ranges can make career mobility easier. What is in this change for me? All current job grades are being replaced with different job grades – so your job grade, but not necessarily your pay, will change. Also, every staff job has a new description. The new job descriptions are currently available online. How will this effect my job and career? If your new Official Job Title does not accurately reflect 80% of your current job duties, then you should talk with your manager to determine if a new title or reevaluation is in order. If your new title is accurate, but is not descriptive enough, you may request a Working Title from your department head, to be printed on your business card or other communications. What if I am not comfortable with my new title?

10 JCCS Campus Training What You Should Do and When Review the information which has been provided in preparation for meeting with your manager What do I need to do next? March 1, 2011 When will the changes take effect? Your manager will meet with you to discuss this at some point in February You will receive a letter by March 1, 2011 How will I be notified? Your manager is your first resource for questions, however you can also visit the JCCS page at Where do I go for help?
