+ What is Tap Water Works about? We are trying to ban the sale of plastic water bottles on the UTA campus We are proposing to implement additional filling stations across the UTA campus Click on the picture to link to UTA

+ Project Goals Immediate Decrease the sale / presence of plastic water bottles on the UT Arlington campus Implement reusable water bottle filling stations at various high-traffic buildings on campus Long-term Eliminate the sale / presence of plastic water bottles on the UT Arlington campus Implement reusable water bottle filling stations at all buildings on campus

+ Project Objectives Provide a map indicating location of water filling stations Integrate filling station initiative into existing campus sustainability education Provide other informational sources for initiative SAMPLE MAP

+ Reasoning + Evidence Bottled water is the single largest growth area among all beverages Plastic bottles are created from petroleum and natural gas Chemicals found in plastic bottles cause numerous health issues Plastic waste is one of the leading contributors to litter pollution Bottled water is essentially overpriced, unregulated tap water

+ How will this be accomplished? Educate faculty and staff on the ban in order to begin incorporating the information in their job duties Sell refillable water containers at a cheaper rate for students Plastic bottles litter the landfills

+ How will this be accomplished? Create a plan for implementing 20 additional water filling stations across campus in high-traffic areas Encourage awareness utilizing various events and venues on campus
