Genre Study If you are what you read, WHO ARE YOU ? 1.Students will identify different types of genre in fiction. 2.Students will identify what attracts them to a particular genre.

The first lesson would require the student to research the meaning of the word genre with class discussion to follow. Future lessons would require the learner to be able to define the different types of genre in fiction, complete practice activities for identifying different types of genre in fiction, as well as entertain a thoughtful process of self reflection to determine why they are drawn to particular types of genre.
