Peer Coaching Program Monica Gardelli Franco

Peer Coaching Program The Peer Coaching Program trains teacher leaders to serve as peer coaches for colleagues. As coaches, these teachers assist their peers in identifying ways that technology can strengthen classroom curriculum and enhance their students’ academic achievement. They also help their colleagues to develop the necessary technology skills and instructional strategies needed to integrate technology into teaching and learning.

Development of Program To encourage reflection and analysis of teaching practice. To foster collaboration among teachers throughout the school building. To utilize the school’s teacher leaders. To provide on-going, cost- effective staff development. To provide opportunities for professional growth for their colleagues whatever their experience with integrating technology.

Goals To give teacher leaders the skills and resources to prepare them for "coaching", so they assist and learning from their colleagues/teachers. To prepare these teachers to assist their peers in identifying ways that technology can strengthen classroom curriculum and enhance their students’ academic achievement

Goals To use the methodology of coaching to encourage systemic integration of the technology To spread the process of professional development into the daily lives to school

Curriculum To develop coaching skills Communication and Colaboration Skills Involvement of the managers of the public schools Help teachers develop plans for effective learning Organize different models of planning and strategy to involve disinterested students.

Program Design 10 sessions which will be conducted over the course of a twelve month period The gols of the five first sessions are to introduce the Program to the coaches, to develop the coach skills and to elaborate an implementation plan of the Program, inside the schools After session 5, the coaches begin to practice coach skills with theirs peers and can share with the others coaches theirs practices.
