Expectations · Come prepared ready to give your best each day · Take responsibility for your actions and your education · Check your grades on the student portal weekly · Communicate with your parents and teacher regularly

Communication · Assignment reminders for major assignments will be sent via Remind 101 · If you have questions, me and I will answer when I am available. I do not check at night. Come and see me before school or after school (EARLY) before you fall behind (7:45-8:00 or 3:30-4:00).

Materials Needed 100 sheet Composition notebook –College ruled 3-Ring Binder for Anatomy only with your Anatomy stuff in it You MUST have a designated space just for HAP information, forms and notes Paper Pen/pencil Highlighters 3x5 Note Cards Colored Pencils 24 pack

Late Work · Assignments will NOT be accepted late (except excused absences). · No printing during class – if you have printer issues you must come in prior to your class period · Computers are available for students who are having computer issues – come before school or before your class to use school computers

Absences · If you are absent, you will be allowed the number ofdays absent plus one! · Test and quizzes must be made up before school at 7:45 am. If you are absent the day of a test or quiz, you will be expected to make this up. It is YOUR responsibility to check for work that was missed following an absence. · Make-up work for unexcused absences will not earn full credit. It may only count up to 70%. In addition, students who are on Out Of School Suspension (OSS) may not earn a grade of more than 70%. The responsibility for arranging to complete make-up work is to be assumed by the student and parent in conjunction with the teacher. · If you are absent on the date that a long-standing assignment is due, such as a project, the assignment is still due, even if you are not present. The long standing assignment must be turned in on time, absent or not. Your project must make it to school on the due date, either by parent/guardian, friend, or . Make sure all absences are EXCUSED to receive full credit. Please remember the Cherokee County attendance policy and note that on your 7th absence, you will receive NO credit for this class.

Cheating · Referral to administrator and a ZERO on the assignment · There is NO makeup for this loss of credit. NO EXCEPTIONS! · Plagiarism is considered a form of cheating. Remember this when doing projects. Please be especially cautious when creating power points or photo stories, as you may not copy any information word for word.

Grading Homework/Classwork/Quizzes 25% Activities/Projects/Labs 25% Tests 35% Semester Exam 15%

Homework The objective of homework is to assist and improve learning - and to strengthen skills and understandings gained in the classroom. Homework is a valuable tool in the learning process; it is a natural extension of class work created and designed by the teacher. Research shows that homework increases student achievement. It offers teachers, parents and students the opportunity to be involved in and support the learning process outside of school. I will check for homework completion but will not always assign a grade. Students who do not have homework completed will be assigned assignment completion tutoring to complete the assignments.
