Uptake of the Seasonal Influenza Vaccine Hospitals and Long Term Care Facilities (LTCFs) during , and Seasons Health Protection Surveillance Centre (HPSC) 28 th August 2015

Influenza Vaccine Staff Uptake in Hospitals, (n=45 hospitals) 79.7% (47/59) of known hospitals (including six private ones) participated in survey 23.4% uptake among all categories of hospital HCWs Uptake varied by HSE region (range 13.3%-30.6%) Highest uptake in Dublin Mid-Leinster Uptake varied by HSE staff category ( %) – highest among ‘medical and dental’ professionals – lowest among ‘nursing’ staff

Influenza Vaccine Staff Uptake in LTCFs, (n=91 hospitals) 41.7% (101/242 known LTCFs) participated in the survey 25.7% uptake among all categories of LTCF HCWs Uptake varied by HSE region (range 17.0%- 36.1%) Highest uptake in Dublin North-East Uptake varied by HSE staff category (22.8%-41.5%) – highest among ‘medical and dental’ professionals – lowest among ‘general support’
