DEFINING CHRONIC PERSISTENT HUNGER (CPH) Chronic hunger results from insecure food supply Affects more than 850 million people globally Results from inability to grow or purchase food Responsible for more than 90% of hunger-related deaths in developing countries Hunger and malnutrition kill more people every year than AIDS, malaria and TB combined! Women and children experience the highest rates of hunger owing to gender inequality
