Some Definitions…  REACH: Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and restriction of Chemicals  Phase-in: Substance previously listed i.e. In EINECs  Non phase-in: New substance, one not covered by the definition of a phase in substance  SVHC: Substance of Very High Concern  VOC: Volatile Organic Compound

ECHA: European Chemicals Agency  Based in Helsinki, Finland  Chemical database listing substances, registration number and deadline for registration  Manage registration, evaluation, authorisation and restriction processes for chemical substances to ensure consistency across the EU  Website address:

Manufacturer of substance (our raw material) Downstream user Humiseal Provider of preparation Downstream user Client User of preparation Must register product with ECHA Must ensure manufacturer has registered product with ECHA Must provide MSDS conforming to REACH showing substance registration no. Must ensure they obtain MSDS conforming to REACH showing substance registration no.

Timeline 1 June Nov June Dec Jan Dec June June 2018 REACH came into force Pre- registration for phase-in substances starts Pre- registration list published. SIEFs are formed Registration for non-pre- registered substances starts Pre- registration for phase- in substances ends Phase 1 Pre-registered phase-in substances registered over 1000 tpa Phase 2 Registered substances over 100 tpa Phase 3 Registered substances over 1 tpa

HumiSeal's role in REACH  Ensure our raw materials are registered before the deadline – most to be done by 1 st Dec 2010  To obtain the registration numbers from our raw material suppliers  Ensure we pass on the registration numbers to customers in the form of MSDSs – expected in early 2011 when registration numbers have been released
