2 Mobile Barcode Promotion Objectives  Promote awareness on ways technology can increase the value of mail  Create excitement about mail; keep mail top-of- mind for marketers  Reward innovative customers  Test ability to offer upfront discount on postage  Engage younger consumers in mail

3 Mobile Barcode Program Basics  Provide discount for mailings which contain valid 2- dimensional Mobile Barcodes for 2 months (July - August 2011)  First-Class Mail and Standard Mail letters, cards, and flats (automation and presort, including residual full-rate with these mailings)  Commercial and Nonprofit Mail is included  Mobile Barcode must be on or within mailpiece  3% discount at the time of mailing (not a rebate)

4 Eligibility Requirements  Permit imprint customers using electronic documentation (mail.dat, mail.xml or Postal Wizard)  Meet Mobile Barcode requirements  Barcode must be contained on or within mailpiece  Readable by mobile device  Used for marketing, promotion or educational purposes and relevant to content of mailpiece  All mailpieces on postage mailing statement must contain Mobile Barcodes  EDoc will be accepted in Postal One beginning June 26

5 Eligibility Requirements  Commingled, Combined and Co-Mail  These mailings qualify if all mailpieces on postage mailing statement contain a qualified mobile barcode  Postage statement can include mail from multiple clients (or versions) if all mailpieces contain mobile barcode  Mailings that include multiple clients (or versions) must have separate postage statements generated by client (or version) that contain mobile barcode pieces ■ Commingled, Combined and Co-Mail mailings which do not separate mobile barcode mailings on separate postage statements from non- mobile barcode mailings, are not eligible for the discount

6 Verification  Must present one sample of each mailpiece (version) qualifying for mobile barcode promotion at BMEU  All mailings are subject to standard acceptance and verification procedures and may be inspected for use of the mobile barcode.  Must retain one sample of each qualifying mailpiece until October 31, 2011 Marketing Mail
