Government Russia is both a democracy and federal republic Power is divided between national and state governments with a president who leads the nation

Economy Russia is a market economy Government no longer sets prices on food or other goods Higher prices make it harder to buy necessities, like food and clothes

Climate Types In Russia Tundra- vast treeless plain in high latitude climates in which only several of the top inches of ice thaws out Subarctic- pattern of weather characterized by bitter winters and cool summers Humid Continental- pattern of weather characterized by cold long snowy winters and hot short summers Steppe- dry grassland often found on the edges of a desert

Medical Issues Life expectancy has fallen Rising number in both cancer and lung diseases Pollution causes harm to Russians health

Daily Life Russians enjoy, hiking, camping, and mountain climbing They love soccer and tennis Also enjoy skiing, skating, and playing ice hockey
