What does friends of the Earth do? It is an organisation which campaigns solutions for environmental problems. In order to raise the issues, they need to: -Focus on the solution to look for better alternatives to what’s already out there. -Back it up with facts which based on research. -Get lots of people involved. -To use their network which consist of over 70 groups of international friends of the earth and 200 local groups in the uk

The three main objectives of the organisation: Living with the limits of natural world Everyone, everywhere, now and tomorrow deserves a good life. The need of changing rules that so that the economy works for us and the environment, not pit one against the other.

What campaigns have they been involved in? Climate: Fighting climate change, promoting green energy and opposing nuclear power. Global trade: Fighting the damaging effects of the global free trade system. Corporates: Exposing bad business and challenging corporate power. Real food: Working towards greener farming and a five-year ban on genetically modified food. Waste: Campaigning for increased recycling and against more incinerators and landfill sites. Transport: Working to reduce the impact on environment of the movement of people and goods in uk Biodiversity: Campaigning to protect the world’s wildlife habitats. Local: Campaigning on a local and regional level. Research: Providing research and policy development for decision- makers and campaigners.

Mission Statement Friends of the Earth exists to protect and improve the environment, locally, nationally and internationally. Their primary aim is to achieve policy change amongst decision makers whose actions have most impact on our environment, in all political parties, national and local government, international fora, businesses and professions. Their secondary aim is to persuade and empower individuals and communities to adopt these values, lifestyles and policies which would ensure a fair and sustainable future for everyone, whilst protecting the diversity and interdependence of all living creatures. At a national and local level, Friends of the Earth Limited runs effective and radical campaigns, and provides practical solutions to today's environmental problems, Friends of the Earth Trust provides high- quality information and research.
