History A genre of urban music. It first emerged in bow, east london in the early 2000’s. The genre developed with uk garage/dancehall/hip hop. It has been known to be Britains addition to urban/black music, which has managed to become a little bit popular in the US. (home of urban music.) Grime has become very popular in Europe aswell. The sound of this type of genre is very complex, coming from 140 beats per minute. The lyrics + music combined create a futuristic electronic element, and dark guttural bass line.
