6 Grids, Guides and Aligning Objects

Chapter 6 Objectives Modify the default InDesign document setup preset. Create document presets, bleeds, and slugs. Place, remove, and modify attributes of guides. Create a newsletter that utilizes a baseline grid. Align and distribute objects. Manage object layers and group elements. Copy, cut, paste, paste into, and paste in place.

Summary Create document presets for specifications you frequently use. Preplan project to accommodate bleeds and slugs. Always use align and distribute functions rather than “eyeballing” objects. Remember to use paste in place when the object should be in the same position on another document.
