Japanese Manga

What is Manga? Manga are Japanese comic books. Manga is popular with both children and adults in Japan.

What is Anime? Anime means ‘animation’. Manga characters are used in Anime.

Manga is known for it’s distinct characters. They almost always have large eyes, small mouths, and they usually have unusual hair colour.

Manga characters have exaggerated emotions. For example, when a character cries, it usually pours out in buckets, when they laugh, their mouth seems to take up most of their face and when they are angry their face becomes very red and steam can be seen coming out of their ears etc.
