Chapter 4 Vocabulary With your host Cory Johnson

Recap Elements on the Periodic Table are arranged by increasing atomic number and are situated in Periods (the rows) and Groups (the columns). Elements combine to make Compounds. Chemical Reactions take Reactants (elements or compounds!) and makes Products (elements or compounds) with different Properties. The Periodic Table says elements are either Metals, Metalloids, or Nonmetals.

Valence Electrons

Noble gases are not reactive because they have a complete Valence Shell making them “stable”. A full Valence Shell means it has a Noble Gas Configuration. In all seriousness, chemistry is all about the transfer of electrons. Lets transfer some electrons…
