Agenda: HW #5 due Friday. A student just learned about motion and speed from 7 th grade science class. He wants to experiment with what he found as he is riding his bike to McDonalds. He is taking his bike for a ride on Albemarle Road. He sees a tree, mailboxes, another student riding her bike, and a moving bus around him. He travels 100 meters every 20 seconds until he arrives at McDonalds, and then he buys Ms. Phillips french fries because he’s nice like that. 1. Using the passage above, what would be an example of a good reference point listed? WHY? 2. Using the passage above, what would be an example of a bad reference point listed? WHY? 3. What is the student’s speed while biking?

It’s time for…GRUDGEBALL!  Each team gets 10 X’s on the board.  When your team gets a question right, somebody gets to shoot a paper ball into the trash can.  If you answer it right, but don’t make the basket, you still get to remove 2 X’s.  If you make a 2 pointer, you can remove 4 X’s and if you make a 3 pointer, you can remove 5.  If your team gets totally knocked off of the board, you can earn back some X’s by answering your question correctly AND making a basket.
