Contents 2 Motivation Concept of PNU RICH v.2.5 Previous results & Beam Analysis using time difference Summary and Outlook

3 Motivation  Introduction to CBM RICH CBM interested in QCD phase diagram (deconfinement & chiral PT.) Prototype of RICH detector is developed in PNU RICH detector for electron ID (J/Ψ, ρ mesons decay to e+ e-) Au+Au collision from 2-45 GeV in 2016

4 Motivation  Cherenkov radiation Neutral Atom ↑ Dipole charged particle Medium (radiator: CO 2 ) Image courtesy of [Yi Jungyu]

5 Motivation  Ring Imaging CHerenkov Detector Result of CBM simulation Image courtesy of [Yi Jungyu]

6 Concept of PNU RICH2.5  Prototype concept RICH detector is consist of 3 parts : Radiator, Mirror, MAPMT ParameterPNU-RICH2.5 Radiator length1.76 m RadiatorN 2, CO 2 Curvature3.2 m Reflexibility>85% (λ>200 nm) Ring radius(60MeV)36.61mm, From J.S Eum’s thesis

Previous Results  (Integrated events) 7  Simulation for PNU RICH(Integrated events) 60MeV 400MeV

8 Beam PAL  Setup of PNU RICH m Image courtesy of [Jongsik Eum]

Beam PAL 9 Run Dipole(A)Mirror Focus 13.75° Half 13.7half Unfocus 14.30°  Dataset(CO 2 ) half 5(degree) 0(degree) R-series PLANACON H8500 C03 H8500 C  Position of mirror Focus = Background + Cherenkov, UnFocus = Background only Dipole current change the energy of electron beam 13.7A ->32.6 MeV, 14.3A ->34.0 MeV The reason using ~30MeV beam is to reduce trigger rate

Analysis using time difference  Time difference 10 MAPMTs -H8500 C03 -H8500 C -PLANACON -R-series ROC Board (Read-Out Controller) Trigger (Coincidence) DITTO+VETO

Analysis using time difference  How to separate intervals of time difference 11 Relatively small peak also included

Red:Focus, Green:Half(C03), Blue:Unfocus Analysis using time difference  Background dominant interval(pedestal only) 12 All H8500 C03H8500 C PLANACON R-series Radius Interval(-3555,-3525) Black:Focus-Unfocus

Red:Focus, Green:Half(C03), Blue:Unfocus Analysis using time difference  Background dominant interval(unfocus>focus) 13 All H8500 C03H8500 C PLANACON R-series Radius Interval(-70,-30) Black:Focus-Unfocus

Red:Focus, Green:Half(C03), Blue:Unfocus Signal Dominant ? Black:Focus-Unfocus Analysis using time difference  Signal Dominant interval(focus>half>unfocus) 14 All H8500 C03H8500 C PLANACON R-series Radius Interval(-200,-110) ~60MeV Interval(-8000,8000) All PMT Remove the Pedestal peak

Analysis using time difference  Finding specific interval 15 Red:Focus, Green:Half(C03), Blue:Unfocus Black:Focus-UnfocusInterval(-170,-160) ~60MeV Expected Radius ~32MeV

Red:Focus, Green:Half(C03), Blue:Unfocus Analysis using time difference  Finding specific interval 16 Black:Focus-UnfocusInterval(-160,-150) ~60MeV Expected Radius ~32MeV

Red:Focus, Green:Half(C03), Blue:Unfocus Analysis using time difference  Finding specific interval 17 Black:Focus-UnfocusInterval(-150,-140) ~60MeV Expected Radius ~32MeV

Red:Focus, Green:Half(C03), Blue:Unfocus Analysis using time difference  Finding specific interval 18 Black:Focus-UnfocusInterval(-150,-140) ~60MeV Expected Radius ~32MeV Dipole current =13.6 ~ 14.3A ~23A

Summary & Outlook 19  Summary(case of CO 2 ) In ~32MeV we have to use time difference Signal dominant interval is (-160,-130)ns Cherenkov ring will be statistically found Result of N 2 don’t agree with our approach -> more studying  Outlook Fit Quality cut makes the results more meaningful Cross-check about N 2 & look the ring directly over hundred MeV → Confirm the operation of PNU RICH Detector !
