Methodology: Buffers Included buffers around layers to add the functional capability to merge Also buffered those features that we wanted to avoid for safety reasons
Methodology: Merging Merged layers in order to have fewer layers to work with We merged all three conservation layers Merged major roads, tiger roads into a transportation layer
Methodology: Negative Group Layer Layers selected against because they contained unsafe, occupied, or physically unsuitable parcels Layers included: lakes, conservation areas, flood zones, historic structures, streams, and group homes
Methodology: Negative Group Layer Combined all the unsuitable features to make a negative group layer
Methodology: Negative Group Layer Color-coded for easy identification of unsuitable locations when combined with positive and negative group layers
