Escape From Ecuador A Kidnapped Webquest IntroductionIntroduction Task Process Evaluation ConclusionTaskProcessEvaluationConclusion

Introduction You are an innocent citizen visiting Peru in the Ecuador/Peru war. You are taking a walk minding your own business when two Ecuadorian soldiers spot you and kidnap you! They manage to get you to Ecuador and thinking you are an important civilian in Peru and that they would pay anything to get you back. Unfortunately you know that isn’t going to happen. Somehow you manage to escape and are now all on your own in Ecuador. You must learn the culture and, since you are only a stranger, you must learn enough Spanish to navigate out of Ecuador. Keep in mind that ever since you got away the Ecuadorian soldiers have been after you. As you go through your journey you know that when you get back to the U.S. (if you ever get back) you will be interviewed for a newspaper. Keep notes of your journey so you can write an interesting article at the end. IntroductionIntroduction Task Process Evaluation ConclusionTaskProcessEvaluationConclusion

Task You must learn specific words in Spanish. The words you already know will help you a lot but you must learn how to ask for directions. I want you to pay special attention to the words for left and right. Also places and how to get to them. Learn about the culture and geography of Ecuador. Without it your sure to stand out. The culture includes many festivals and traditions. Also you need to know the geographical terrain so you know which way is safe to travel and which is not. Try to include (when you write your newspaper) a friend that helped you along the way. It is important that you make a protective web of friends around you. You have safely reached home. You filled out your article and you are glad to be back safe at home with your friends and family. Against all odds you made it back to those who you hold dear. You also made some friends along the way and now have a few penpals. All of this has made you realize how much friendship means. You were kidnapped in the first place because it was believed you had a friendship with Peru. You had to make friends get across Ecuador. This whole thing was not only to teach you about Ecuador, it was to teach you how important friendship is. IntroductionIntroduction Task Process Evaluation ConclusionTaskProcessEvaluationConclusion
