Vision for JGCD Goals  To be a most influential and respected journal in aerospace engineering  Surpass and maintain the lead over the IEEE Transactions on Aerospace Electronic Systems in SCI impact factor to become the highest-ranked research journal in Aerospace Engineering (For 2012 the JGCD had an impact factor of 1.27 vs for TAES) Implementation Plan  Seek to further increase the submission of high-quality papers  Identify and recruit AEs with strong technical background in targeted/emerging areas  Publish focused special sections on advanced technology achievements from high-profile programs 2

Vision for JGCD Implementation Plan Continued  Publish papers from rigorous studies on technology needs, assessments, and trends  Appoint 2 senior Associate Editors to assist the EIC in the endeavor of enhancing JGCD’s reach, influence, and impact Publications Committee Action  Consideration of JGCD to become a monthly publication –Annual submissions (630) support a monthly publication –Currently with 300 pages, each JGCD issue has become too thick –Although a monthly publication may put pressure on production, but will contribute to the increase of the impact factor 3
