Foreign Language Department At Maria Regina High School

Courses available: Spanish 1 Spanish 2 Spanish 3 Spanish 4 (Link) Italian 1 Italian 2 Italian 3 Italian 4 (on demand) * Link courses are 3 credits per semester or 6 credits per year. The credits are given by Iona College, but are taught by Maria Regina faculty.

Students with a background in foreign language: Students who –Are native speakers, or –Have taken courses on the elementary level are urged to take the advanced placement language exam given in the Spring. If they are successful, they will be advanced to Level Two of the language.

Cultural Enrichment Easter vacation tour – a visit to Granada, Spain. Christmas buffet dinner in a Spanish 3 classroom. Both languages offer membership in : a.National honor societies b.Cultural heritage clubs
