Summary The blue ringed octopus is found in the pacific ocean. It is a very small octopus that feeds primarily on small fish, crab, and shrimp. It is extremely venomous and a little of its venom is strong enough to kill many humans. octopus.html

Anatomy

This octopus is really small in size 12cm from the upper half of the body to its tentacles. They have blue and black rings with yellowish skin. octopus.html

Physiology The blue ringed octopus is just like most octopuses but its small has blue rings and is highly venomous. The blue ring octopus turns blue when it is about to attack. octopus/

Ecology The blue ringed octopus hides in cracks and ambushes small shrimp and small fish. It is found primarily in the pacific ocean. octopus/

Reproduction Once both of the octopuses reach adulthood the blue octopus mates just like all other octopus they act like they are conducting business. Soon after mating both the male and female octopus die. The female dies soon after laying its eggs and the male dies a few months after mating. life/octopus5.htm
