Mrs. Owens Language Arts Welcome to Albritton Middle School!!!

STUDENT EXPECTATIONS: Be to class on time. Come prepared with supplies (Notebook, Pencil, SSR book, and Agenda). Be prepared to learn. Have homework completed BEFORE class starts. Homework is to be done at HOME.

STUDENT EXPECTATIONS: CONTINUED… Get homework stamped/signed when absent; it’s YOUR responsibility Turn in work on time. Keep track of assignments! Keep your notebook organized (i.e. glue worksheets, label pages, etc.). Respect everyone, including yourself!

Breakdown of Grades A= % B=80-89% C=70-79% D=60-69% F=0-59% NOTEBOOK (RRL, HOMEWORK, NOTES)=35% PROJECTS (includes book talks)= 25% TESTS=20% QUIZZES=15% BLOG=5%

You will receive a new R.R.L. EVERY Monday. It is your responsibility to get one if you are absent You will only receive 1 (ONE!!!) copy of each log. If you lose it, you must get a copy from the wiki or a BFF. You MUST fill in the entire log and put the assignments in your notebook. A parent MUST sign the log---no exceptions! COMPLETED logs are due on Fridays.

Book talks You are required to complete 2 book talks every grading quarter. I will grade you using the book talk rubric Book talks are part of your projects grade You must have completed the book before doing the book talk. Sign-ups for the book talk take place all week. Book talks will take place every WEDNESDAY. It is your job to sign up for book talks.

Notebooks MUST be brought to class EVERY SINGLE DAY. Keep it organized and neat. Notebook checks will occur every Friday. If you are absent and your homework is not stamped, it is your job to get it stamped.
