Place seeds in jar to soak  Add 11/2 cup of sunflower seeds to a wide-mouth jar  Add 2 Tbs of alfalfa or other sprouts to a different jar

Cover and fill  Cover the jar with a piece of cheesecloth or plastic mesh  Tighten with rubber band or ring  Fill with water  Place in a dark place

Day 2  After soaking for 8 to 12 hours, drain and rinse  Return to a warm, dark place

Rinse or Plant  After 8-12 hours, sprinkle the sunflower seeds over 1”of topsoil  Pat flat  Water and cover with another tray for 3 days  Continue to rinse the sprout jar every 12 hours and keep in the dark Hint: Keep seeds moist, dark and warm

Growing Lettuce  Sprinkle seeds over 2 inches of topsoil  Add another ¼ inch of soil over the seeds  Water and cover with another tray  Keep covered and moist until seeds sprout
