Sudoku: And Why It’s Good For You SC Johnson Elementary School Math Night February 9, 2012

Sudoku: Why It’s Good For You Cognitive Assessment: develops your child’s ability and skills of number identification and retention Elimination: by assessing which numbers are already given in particular squares your child can employ the process of eliminating these numbers to arrive at possible numerical answers. Logical Thinking: your child can develop his or her logical thinking skills like deduction. Analysis: your child needs to analyze using the process of elimination and on the evaluation of trying out a number to see if it fits into the grid or not.

Advantages of Sudoku First: It is a fun game with numbers that improves logic, concentration and reasoning. Second: Anyone can play. Third: Kids who have little interest in study can enjoy playing.

Why Sudoku is Good for Children First: Rapid growth in logical thinking, rational thinking and memorizing skills. Second: Development of analytic and instituting skills. Third: Acknowledge deductive reasoning and generalization. Fourth: It’s a puzzle that uses left and right brains.

Fifth: It’s a puzzle that familiarizes you with numbers. Sixth: It improves concentration, patience, and confidence subconsciously. Seventh: Sudoku is an educational game that even babies can enjoy.
