Carolyn J. Vander Schee & Deron Boyles (2010): ‘Exergaming,’ corporate interests and the crisis discourse of childhood obesity, Sport, Education and Society, 15:2, Split into 3 groups Each group will be provided with a excerpt from the article Discuss the excerpt in your groups and then present to the class (Jigsaw) Be sure to include the key players

Dance Dance Revolution Just Dance!

Geocaching Using GPS and allows for the cross curricular ideas in developing the mapping/geography skills to assist the physical education lesson Activity: Set up an “amazing race” activity with the geocashing program Solving questions in order to move on to the next location (Could be a way to end a unit, investigating the learners knowledge level)

Apps (Visible Body's Muscular Premium Anatomy) Apps (Visible Body's Muscular Premium Anatomy) This app details each muscle and has the ability to rotate, title, shift and move in any direction to look at the anatomy from any angle. It can selectively remove muscles and fade muscles to get a sense of depth and how different muscles are positioned. Activity: A possible lecture and hands on activity of this app in a unit of fitness would be best.

App (Kinesiocapture) This app captures video and enables analysis. Similar to Dartfish, this software offers the convenience by being able to record video, analyze, and review right measure angles, apply posture grids, overlay video, and watch two videos side by side. Activity: The ability to assess sport performance within most units can be beneficial. Students who are unable to physically participate could possibly use this to make up for possible lost marks.

How might you incorporate technology into the classroom? What are some considerations we might want to think about before we implement a particular piece of technology?  Consider the following – Curriculum, IRPs, Budget, Appropriateness, Life long health & wellness
