Major Branches of Earth Science Booklet, Brochure, or Foldable 6 th Grade Earth Science One Team One Goal Student Success

Today’s Mission (1 st and 4 th )  Your mission today is to create a picture booklet for the major branches of Earth Science. (Geology, Oceanography, Hydrology, Meteorology, and Astronomy)  You will draw or find 1-2 pictures that represent each branch.  You will name and write a thorough description for each branch of Earth Science. In addition, you will provide a 3-4 sentence explanation of how that picture represents that branch of Earth Science.

Today’s Mission (2 nd and 5 th )  Your mission today is to create a picture brochure or foldable for the major branches of Earth Science. Geology, (Oceanography, Hydrology, Meteorology, and Astronomy)  Describe (description should include-definition and examples) each branch of Earth Science.  You will draw or find 1-2 pictures for each major branch of Earth Science. You will explain in 1 or 2 sentences how that picture represents that branch.

Which Branch is it? Explain

Your booklet should be set-up in the following manner.  Name of the Earth Science Branch (Geology, Oceanography, Hydrology, Meteorology, and Astronomy)  Detailed Description of each Branch  1-2 Pictures that represent each Branch  Explanation for each picture or illustration

Hydrology  Hydrology-the branch of (Earth Science) that studies water on the earth and in the atmosphere: its distribution and uses and conservation-water found in lakes, rivers, streams, ponds, underground, and oceans  Hydrosphere-includes oceans and all water found at or below the surface of the Earth it also includes water in the atmosphere (water vapor)
