No control point for students entering or leaving the high school. No visible front entrance. Vehicular traffic crosses student traffic between classes. Existing parking areas are not well defined.

Window air conditioners do not meet current fresh air requirements. They are inefficient, and do not adequately cool the rooms. Energy Conservation

Science Labs labs are 30% smaller than standard labs. – Other Science classes taught in small classrooms, without student lab stations.

HILLSBORO COMMUNITY UNIT SCHOOL DISTRICT 3 HILLSBORO COMMUNITY UNIT SCHOOL DISTRICT 3 HILLSBORO, ILLINOIS MAIN BUILDING Instructional Issues Old Gym: – 45% under size for an auxiliary gym – Space is underutilized (used about 10% of the time) – Lack of adequate space causes busing of students to remote facilities

HILLSBORO COMMUNITY UNIT SCHOOL DISTRICT 3 HILLSBORO COMMUNITY UNIT SCHOOL DISTRICT 3 HILLSBORO, ILLINOIS Gymnasium Building: The window needs replacement on the 1939 and 1967 portion of the building. Some of the mechanical systems serving the 1939 and 1967 portion of the building need upgrading. Technology labs are inadequately powered and sized, needing relocated. Domestic water piping needs replacement in the 1939 building.

HILLSBORO COMMUNITY UNIT SCHOOL DISTRICT 3 HILLSBORO COMMUNITY UNIT SCHOOL DISTRICT 3 HILLSBORO, ILLINOIS GYMNASIUM BUILDING Current Gym is used for P.E., athletic practices, games, Operetta practices, performances, as well as Band/Choral performances. More space is needed for these activities. –Stage and gym is inadequate as a performing arts venue; acoustically inappropriate Locker rooms are below grade with poor air circulation and ADA concerns Band Room not ADA accessible Instructional Issues

Health life safety items need to be addressed. Domestic water piping needs replacing. AGRICULTURE BUILDING
