Geo-Exchange CMU Using the Largest Solar Collector in Existence: The Earth  Combined, the Current Fields provide 1,962 tons of Heating and 1,579 tons of Cooling  1,162,728 s.f. of connected load (10 buildings and one swimming pool  CMU has completed four bore fields and has one field currently under construction  The 378 bore holes will combine to provide 189,000 lineal feet of 2.5” diameter pipe - Over 35 miles!  Bore fields are connected into 18” dia. pipes that deliver the geo resource to buildings across campus, allowing heat energy to move between buildings, the natatorium, the ground & other heat sinks yet to be developed (tail water heat exchanger)

Solar Photovoltaic Energy 300 Days of Sunshine=CMU’s Other Clean Energy Power Plant  CMU has Completed two arrays; one on the Science Building and another on NASH  These Panels Produce 30kW of Clean Energy (18 kW on NASH, 12 kW on Science)  How much additional solar is needed on campus?  Additional solar panels could be placed on the roofs of up to fourteen buildings and one or more parking garages and existing lots
