The French Presidency Progress Report FR initiated discussions on legal framework for gambling and betting in the EU A questionnaire dealt with the general organization, cross-boarder aspects and policy objectives The development of online gambling raises new challenges. The legal development in ECJ

Common themes for cooperation Protection of public order – fight against money laundering, corruption and fraud Social and consumer protection – research programmes, protection of minors and vulnerable persons, guarantee of trustworthy gambling operators and advertising Combating gambling regarded as illegal Taxation
