The Overland Empires Russia Spreads East across Asia to the Pacific by 1700 1742 They take Alaska 1812 Fort Ross in CA 1815-1867 Gains lands in Central Asia, Far East Asia and Eastern Europe The United States Spreads West to Oregon in the Early 1800s 1803 Th. Jefferson makes “The Louisiana Purchase” 1848 Takes California, and Texas etc from Mexico
