Drama Club History (twice)

Synopsis A young lion Prince, Simba, is cast out of his pride by his cruel uncle, Scar, who claims he killed his father, Mufasa. While the uncle rules with an iron fist, Simba grows up beyond the savannah, living by a philosophy: No worries for the rest of your days. But when his past comes to haunt him, the young Prince must decide his fate: will he remain an outcast, or face his demons and become what he needs to be?

Audition Materials The audition song is “Circle Of Life.” Students need to know how to sing Rafiki’s solo part as well as the African text, sung by the ensemble. If students would like an audio copy of the music to practice with, they must bring in a blank CD-R or CD-RW by Nov. 9 th and Mr. Jalbert will make a copy for them. Parent Committees The directors will set up parent committees to assist with the many “behind the scenes” aspects of putting on a production of this caliber. Parents of cast members are expected to join at least one committee. Committees will be organized and set up after the winter break.

Drama Club Dues Drama club members are required to pay dues in the amount of $40. This covers the cost of a Drama Club T-Shirt and also helps defray the cost for building supplies, paint, and other items needed for set construction/props/etc. If parents volunteer at least 4 hours of time toward set building and/or committee work, their dues are reduced to $20.
