Jan Brett Encyclopedia Lesson for Third Grade Jan Brett writes wonderful children’s books that usually include lots of animals. She researches the area that is the setting of the story and uses that research to create both the story and the illustrations. Below is a list of some of the animals in Jan Brett’s books. At your table you will find a volume of the Student Discovery Encyclopedia. You will need to share with the person next to you. Step 1: Look at the side of the encyclopedia to see what letter(s) your volume includes. Step 2: Look at the list of animals and figure out which one is in your volume of the encyclopedia.
