Name ______________ Date ________________ My Apple Report The apple is a fruit that grows on an apple tree. The apple is popular in many parts of the world. People have eaten apples for thousands of years. All apples have a thin outside skin and juicy white fruit (flesh) on the inside. If you cut an apple across you will see a star shaped middle. This holds the seeds. Apples belong to the rose family and are closely related to pears. Apple trees grow to be 40 feet tall. In the spring they have sweet smelling white blossoms. There are thousands of kinds of apples. Some have different colors, shapes, and sizes. Washington State grows the most apples in the United States. When stored in a cool place apples can keep up to a year without spoiling.
