Fan Blades: From 2-Liter bottles Generator: 20 small magnets positioned around a metal disk with alternating poles -magnets spin over 12 coils of wire Blades attached to brass pipe that spins within two ball bearings.
Wind enters through one side of the blades and exits through the other side of the overlapping blades --Two-tiered blade design Fan blades are attached to a brass rod which spins the magnets over the coils
Magnets are placed around a metal disk and alternate in polarity ◦ This gives an alternating current when passing over the coils ◦ Coils are attached in series (makes voltage additive)
Any variation in orientation of the coils significantly impacted the power created. We had to add more coils than we intended. The 2-liter bottles were hard to position in the styrofoam.
Measured voltage=1.75 volts For the wind produced by the fan:
Our windmill created enough voltage and amperage to light the light bulb. We had a few minor difficulties, but our original design ultimately worked.
