Focusing Questions How can we manage our files using the Digital File Locker in eChalk?

Instruction

Framing The Session We already learned how to use eChalk to communicate with others. Today we are going to learn how to manage our files using our eChalk Digital File Locker.

Digital File Locker Our digital file locker is located within the “My Account” tab in eChalk. They are kept in a folder called “Files”.

Digital File Locker Once we are in our Digital File Locker, we can see our files listed, and use the buttons to Add, Save, Delete, and Send an .

Adding a File To add a file, click the “Add” button, and the file selection window will open. Click the “Choose File” button.

Adding a File After we select the file we would like to upload, we can it listed in the window. Click the “Upload” button to add it to your digital file locker.

Adding a File Now that we have clicked “Upload”, we can see the file in our digital file locker.

Saving a File The “Save” button allows us to view a file that is already in our digital file locker. First, we must select the file we want to save.

Saving a File Once we click the “Save” button, the file download window will open. There are three options for saving our file: We can view it in a new web browser Open it in the original application Download and save the file on our computer

Deleting a File First, select the file that needs to be deleted by clicking the box next to the file name. Next, click the “Delete” button.

Sending the File If we would like to send the file to someone, we can select the file and click “Send ”.

Sending a File After we click “Send ”, a new will open and our document will already be attached. Now we can send our with the file attachment like we learned in our eChalk lesson.

Guided Practice Now we will practice using each of the features in our Digital File Locker together. 1.Add a file 2.Saving a file 3.Delete a file 4.Send a file as an attachment

Work Time

Getting Started Now we will each have time to practice using our Digital File Locker.

Work Time 1.Add at least 2 of your class files to your digital file locker. 2.Practice sending a file in an to your assigned partner. 3.When you receive the file from your partner, save it to your computer. 4.Choose one file and delete it from your Digital File Locker.
