Objetivos/Objectives  Understand how rubric works for projects.  Ask more questions on project.  Work on your project alone or with group.  Take test those that need to.  Review test. Ask questions about it.  Sample of a festival of flowers or Fair of Flowers Medellin. CUbc

Homework for Monday, November 17  Bring question pages on Day of the Dead.  Bring question page on Columbus Day if you did not do a presentation or paragraph. (these pages will raise your grade as well as help you for the retake) If you need to take a retake of assessment 2. Study for it and take it next Thursday, November 20 th. Continue research project of Spanish speaking country.  Have an outline of how you are going to direct your project.  Go to See rubric and project on WSCA homework folder

Prepare for Summative Assessment #2 Retake Review for Assessment 2 and for RETAKES: SEASONS, MONTHS AND WEATHER:  Know well backwards and forward months, weather and seasons. Ex: primavera: marzo, abril y mayo. Review homework sheets on it. 3 TRADITIONS: (Review questions page and videos of these 3 traditions we discussed in class)  Dia de la Raza or Christopher Columbus Day  Quinceañera  Dia de los Muertos or Day of the Dead  Know how to spell parts of body page and puzzle on back. Locate them on doll picture.  Know how to spell class vocabulary

We watched the videos on and answered questions about the “Day of the Dead” or Día de los Muertos. What have you learned? What is the Day of the Dead? When is it celebrated? Why do people celebrate the day of the Dead? Where to this come from? Which country? Can you describe the preparations for this day? Food, flowers, dresses, etc. What is the religious aspect? Where do people go visit? How do people act on Day of the Dead? What do you think about this day? Is the day of the dead compared to any tradition in the USA? Explain.

“Quinceañera Tradition” What have you learned? What is it? Why is it celebrated? Do other Spanish countries celebrated? What is the meaning of it? How is it celebrated? How are the boys and girls dressed? Is this formal? Is it a religious and family tradition? Describe what you saw in the videos: food, cake, decorations, music, dances. What does it look like to you? Tell me your opinion. Is there any comparison with any US tradition?

We watched the videos about the Christopher Columbus or Dia de la Raza. What have you learned? Día de la Raza. What is Día de la Raza? What does it mean in lationamerican countries? When is it celebrated? ¿Qué es el día de la raza? ¿Cuál es la fecha del Día de la Raza? How is Columbus Day celebrated in Hispanic countries? How is it celebrated in schools in Spanish countries? Compare and contrast how is celebrated this day here in the USA? What does it mean to some people Columbus Day? What does it mean to natives of different countries or natives of USA ? What is diversity of cultures? How does it fit with Día de la Raza?
