Letter to Self A Chance to see the changes in yourself from the beginning to the end of the year!

Organization of your Letter to Self You must complete a prewriting web! You must have the basic parts to a friendly letter represented in your letter to self (heading, salutation, body, closing, signature). You may or may not include a P.S. Your letter must be a MINIMUM of one page in length. ONE FULL PAGE! Remember to consider Organization from the 6-trait writing rubrics, and the writing process while writing your letter.

Let’s Pre Write! Make a “ME” Web! Time to self-reflect! In your letter, you may answer some of the following questions: What do I really like about myself? What would I like to work on this year? Goals? What are my future goals? What do I need to do this year to reach my goals? Who are my friends? Who do I admire? Why? What is my favorite song, band or artist? What are my favorite hobbies? What do I most look forward to this year? Add anything else you would like …favorite things, info about boyfriends/girlfriends, etc…

Drafting! Now that your web is complete, you are ready to write your letter! Remember, your letter should have all of the parts of the friendly letter, be self-reflective, and one page in length!

WRITE! Your letter will be hand-written. Good writers edit and revise as they write!!!

About your letter … No one will read this letter but you! All you need to do is show it to me so that I may check the length and organization. Make sure you sign your letter and seal it in some way…you may fold it, staple it, tape it, etc. You will receive this letter back at the end of the year.

REMEMBER… Make it fun and take it seriously, so you will enjoy reading it at the end of the year!
