MAP TRAINER MEETING D&S DIVERSIFIED TECHNOLOGIES OCTOBER 2015

New Testing Policies DDS, DMH and D&S Diversified Technologies and several MAP providers have formed a committee to establish the two new testing policies Inappropriate Behavior Policy Weather Policy for December 1 through March 31

Inappropriate Behavior Policy To ensure that candidates are aware of the consequences of inappropriate behavior on test day we have established the following policy.

Inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated at test events. All candidates are required to be in the designated testing wait area prior to the time listed on the testing notification. If you are not in the designated testing wait area as required you will be considered a No Show.

1.If you are late you will be given an information sheet with documented steps that need to be followed in order to schedule a new test date.

2.A sign will be posted on the door to the testing room. You cannot interrupt testing for any reason. If you interrupt testing, you may lose your eligibility to take any further MAP tests.

3.Security or the Police will be contacted if your behavior causes a disturbance to testing or the work place.

4.Your sponsoring employer will be informed about any inappropriate behavior at testing.

Weather Policy for December 1 through March 31 Cancellations will be posted on the D&S Diversified Website and on our weather number recording at our office. Please call the weather hotline at to determine if your testing has been cancelled due to weather prior to leaving home or work for your test event.

1.Testing will proceed as scheduled if the test site is open and the tester/proctor is able to travel to the test site.

2.Testing will be cancelled if public transportation closes in the testing area.

3.If you have winter weather that occurs in your area within the 24 hours prior to testing, you must submit documentation (i.e.: screen shot from a news station or webpage, a statement from the MDOT website or your local police department, etc.) for review to determine if the $45 no show fee will be waived. All documentation must be received within 5 days of the test date.

4.If you do not attend testing due to weather related issues (i.e.: your roof fell in due to heavy snow, extended power outage, etc.), you are required to provide documentation to confirm the situation. Some examples of appropriate documentation would be a claim form from your insurance company, a copy of a repair bill or estimate, a print out of power outage areas from power provider, etc.)

5.All exceptional weather events will be reviewed by D&S, in collaboration with DDS & DMH for possible cancellations, rescheduling modifications and/or allowances.

Updated Wording on Test Notifications In order to address the issues surrounding the time staff are instructed to arrive for the MAP testing process, we are changing the time listed on the notifications and test schedule. The instructions will now reflect the actual time they must be present in the designated MAP testing wait room rather than the time the test begins. The new wording will appear on notifications in the near future.

The testing process for your MAP test begins at 03:45 PM ET. You must locate the pink sign located in the designated MAP testing wait area prior to 03:45 PM ET. WARNING! After this time you will be considered a No Show. No Show fees will apply. At this time you must:  Read the pink MAP testing sign.  Have your signed, non-expired, US government issued photo ID ready to present to the tester/proctor.  The name at the top of this confirmation must exactly match the name on your US government issued ID. Note: Signing in at the front desk is a security measure at some facilities and does not constitute being signed in for testing. Your MAP testing process will begin promptly at 03:45 PM ET.
