Driver Education Parents/Guardians Meeting Course info -- Required – 42 classroom hrs, 12 observation hrs, 6 BTW Expectations of new driver – take responsibility for their learning Montana Graduated Driver Licensing (GDL) law Requires 50 hours of supervised practice driving including 10 hours at night with parents Log hours in your log book – the DMV does look at the log book Limits passengers and restricts night driving with first year license 8

Highest lifetime crash risk is in the first year of driving

RESEARCH 2015 Recent Nebraska research finds that teens taking driver education had significantly fewer injury or fatal crashes, and fewer traffic and alcohol related violations.
