Myself I am a senior consulting civil engineer specialized in Hydrology. At present I work for Nippon Koei. co. ltd. Japan. In the hydrology research group. I have more than 12 years of professional experience in civil engineering consultancy and research. specializing in hydrological modeling, flood modeling and forecasting, flood risk assessment, climate change impact assessment. In addition I have teaching, capacity building and mentoring experiances.

Future directions Disaster education in schools is one of the Promising areas -Not only teaching about disasters but also we should promote students to involve monitoring activities as well. Can link IT education with disaster monitoring - as an example, we can setup raingauging stations in schools in disaster prone areas. If we can initiate web framework, student can play with data “Miracle of Kamaishi” - Prof. Katada - out of 3000, only 5 died Multi-hazad risk assessment

Kotmale project My particular task was setting up an experimental basin for measuring hydrological variables using high resolution rainfall and discharge gauging stations, and to utilize these data for the description of catchment hydrology. I installed seven new rainfall gauging stations and three water stage measuring stations in the basin and meticulously carried out measuring hydrological variables continuously in a cascading river basin network for over two years that provided very important data sets in a country where rainfall runoff data at high temporal resolutions is extremely rare. During this period, I have developed rating curves for each water stage measuring station by field measurements of stream flow rate using current meters
