Transcription Definition: Genetic information found in a specific gene (DNA) is rewritten in the form of RNA. Location: nucleus Enzymes Involved: RNA Polymerase

Step 1 1. RNA Polymerase binds to the promoter of the gene to start the process

Step 2 2. RNA Polymerase adds complimentary RNA nucleotides to the exposed DNA template

Step 3 3. RNA Polymerase reaches the terminal (stop) signal that marks the end of the gene and stops transcription
