Chapter 7/14.3 Francisco Concepcion Period 2

Plant cell ● Surrounded by cell wall and a cell membrane. ● They have chloroplast to absorb sunlight. ● Has a central vacuole. ● Boxed shape

Animal cell ● Surrounded by a cell membrane. ● Spherically shaped. ● Does not have chloroplast. ● Does not have a central vacuole.

Prokaryotic cell ● Typically unicellular bacteria. ● No nucleus ● Has flagella ● Is absent of most organelles.

Eukaryotic cell ● Typically multicellular ● Animal/plant cells ● Have a membrane bound nucleus.

Active transport ● Active transport requires energy. ● The cell membrane acts as a gate and helps with transports. ● They go through the lipid bilayer by means of protiens in the membrane.

Passive transport ● Passive transport does not require energy. ● Molecules move freely such as in osmosis or diffusion. ● The membrane acts as a channel.
