What do we see? James 1

James 1: ‘Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.’

2 Timothy 3:16-17 ‘All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.’

What do we look for in the mirror? Cleanliness …….forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation but deliver from evil for thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, forever and ever amen.

Blemishes Fit

Are we looking at the right mirror? Spoon gives a distorted image Small Mirror gives a partial picture Shaving Mirror enlarges a particular area Big Mirror shows the full picture

When we look into the mirror of God’s word, what do we see? We see our flaws. We see that we are sinners. We also see that Jesus Christ died for our sins. We see that by believing in Jesus Christ, we can be changed forever.

This is why it is not so much how long you have been a Christian but how much you have developed.

Where are you this morning? Be prepared to take an honest look into God’s Mirror. Let him show you the next step and do it.
