General Information BBangladesh became a country in 1971 as a result of East Pakistan seceding from the union with West Pakistan. TThis country is very impoverished. AAlmost 33% of the country floods during each rainy season. TThis stop economic progress.

Location AAbsolute: 24° North Latitude, and 90 ° East Longitude. RRelative: Southern Asia. Between Myanmar and India. Borders on the Bay of Bengal.

Place AArea-Comparative: Bangladesh is just a little bit smaller than the state of Iowa. CClimate: Tropical. They have mild winters, and humid and scorching hot summers. They also experience the monsoon season.

TThe low point is the Indian Ocean. TThe high point is known as Keokradong. TTerrain: Mostly flat alluvial plain. Lots of hills in the Southeast region.
