Conjunctive AdverbsConjunctive Adverbs  is an adverb that connects two clauses.adverb  Conjunctive adverbs show cause and effect, sequence, contrast, comparison, or other relationships.  When the job of an adverb is to connect ideas, we call it a conjunctive adverb.adverb  A Conjunctive adverb is followed by a comma.

Conjunctive Adverbs Continued  When a conjunctive adverb connects two independent clauses in one sentence, it is preceded by a semicolon and followed by a comma. If you say yes, be sure to decide on how much money?  Finally, one group member will present your argument and final decision to the prompt.

Objective  SWBAT read and annotate chapter 7 of The Kite Runner.  SWBAT Develop an argument judging whether or not Amir is a good friend to Hassan.

Class Read Aloud of Chapter 7  As we read, take notes and be prepared to answer questions.

Assignment  Develop an argument assessing whether or not you think Amir is a good friend.  Use at least 3 pieces of evidence from the text.  We will debate this whole class. Here’s the catch…I will determine whether your are yay or nay. So this means as you develop your argument you should consider the opposing view.  1’s are Yay  2’s are Nay   If we do not get to the debate, we will do so tomorrow.
