5 Terms of Reference To produce a Joint HSE/RPII Position Paper on Radon Overall Aim of the Group :To propose evidence based measures that would lead to a reduction in the number of cases of lung cancer in Ireland due to radon exposure

6 Areas of Consideration by Group Overview of the scope of radon in Ireland and the public health implications including existing radon control and interventions Remediation v Prevention – In light of recent research does Ireland place too much emphasis on identifying individual risk from radon rather than reduction of collective dose by passive prevention

7 Recommendation That a properly constituted expert group be immediately established to drive the development of a national radon control strategy for Ireland
