Overview Positivity Progress towards Regional Goals and Objectives Infrastructure Performance Measures
Chlamydia Positivity in Region I Family Planning Females by Year % Positive
Region I Chlamydia Positivity Family Planning Females by State and Year % Positive
Regional Goals and Objectives Objective 1.1 By 2010, increase by 10% the number of young sexually active men and women at risk for Chlamydia who are screened, using 2004 as a measure.
Objective data as a baseline increase from by 10% in IPP sites.
Objective 1.1
Regional Goals and Objectives Objective 2.2 By 2010, no more than 5% of the woman more than 25 years of age with no risk factors will be screened in IPP funded clinics, i.e. 95% will be screened according to regional screening criteria
Risk factors include the following variables: CLINICAL Factors - Muco -PID -Femaleother REASON FOR EXAM -Symptomatic for STD RISK HISTORY -Two -Newsex -Std -Condom -Consist -Partner
Among women who test Positive, % with Risk Factors Family Planning, Females Only, Age 25+* % With Risk Factors * For MA, for 2004 to 2006 run as 30+, and 2007 run as 26+

Infrastructure Performance Measures Performance Measure 1 –Screening Coverage Estimate (FPAR data) Numerator: Number of women screened in Family Planning Clinics Denominator: Number of women eligible to be screened
Infrastructure Performance Measures Estimated Screening Coverage by Age Category Percent
Infrastructure Performance Measures In 2007: –Increased screening in the and age categories over the past 2 years screening rose from 35.6% in 2005 to 42.5% in screening rose from 34.1% in 2005 to 40.2% in 2007 –Decreased screening in females over 24 over the past 2 years Screening >24 went from 40.5% in 2005 to 32.8% in 2007 Goal for 2008 –Increase the number of women age 24 and under by at least 3% –Decrease the number of women age 24+ by at least 3%
Infrastructure Performance Measures Performance Measure 2 Chlamydia Screening Test Utilization Proportion of total tests by age category (Region I IPP Data) –Numerator: Number of women tested by age category in Family Planning Clinics –Denominator: Total number of women tested
Infrastructure Performance Measures Proportion of Female Tests Utilized,
Infrastructure Performance Measures In 2007 –Very little change over the past 3 years for all 4 age categories Could be a result of budget cuts –Proportion of tests done on women age 29+ is high Could be because data is not broken down by those with and without risk factors, CDC recommends testing age 26+ with risk factors Goal for 2008 –Increase the proportion of tests utilized by women between the ages of from 0.31 to 0.35 –Decrease the proportion of tests utilized by women 29+ from 0.27 to 0.2
Future Analyses Rescreening and re-infection rates Screening coverage Improving quality of data Cost effectiveness (age criteria, male screening, clinic types, etc)
