 The body is made up of 206 bones in adulthood. The skeletal is what gives us are shape and the power to move. It’s divided into 2 groups: the Axial skeleton and the Appendicular skeleton each with it’s own purpose.

 The cranium could be thought of as the most important structure in your skeleton, especially because it protects your brain. Your skull is the framework for most of your sensory organs like: the eyes, ears, tongue, nose, and some skin. The skull is made up of 22 cranial bones, plus the 3 in each ear.

 The back bone is a really flexible structure made of 26 bones. The back bone is a structure and all other upper body structures branch out. It protects the spinal nerve and that’s like a highway that send information from the brain to the body. The back bone is approximately 28 inches.

 These are the 5 main bone functions:  1. Support  2. Protection-keeps organs safe from damage like the rib cage and skull  3. Movement  4. Storage-stores fat and some minerals  5. Blood cell information
