Kingdoms
Scientists use differences in organisms to help identify them Essential Question: How do scientists identify organisms belonging to different kingdoms? Think: What kind of differences?
REMEMBER: at first all living things were classified into 2 kingdoms: plants & animals NOW there are 6 kingdoms: plants, animals, protists, fungi, archaebacteria, eubacteria
Bacteria are tiny prokaryotes that live everywhere, but we can’t see them.
Protists are eukaryotes but only have one cell
Fungi are mushrooms, mold and mildew. They like to live in wet environments
Plants are all green and can’t move.
Animals can move around and eat other things
